Many
businesses are successful due to information they have which is
not generally known to others. This may include customer lists,
processing information, chemical formulas which are not easily reverse-engineered
and general know-how which gives them advantages over their competitors.
Such information is usually protectable against disclosure or use
by former employees or third parties so long as appropriate steps
are taken to keep the information confidential. Unfortunately, many
companies attempt to implement such procedures after the confidential
information has already made its way to a competitor. By developing
and implementing protocols early, the risk of trade secret misappropriation
can be reduced significantly. Bateman IP Law Group is experienced
in working with clients to ensure that trade secret information
remains confidential.
