Perry represents clients on a broad array of intellectual
property matters and was named by Utah Business Magazine as one
of the Utah Legal Elite intellectual property attorneys. His experience
includes patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation,
patent and trademark licensing, mergers, acquisitions and other
technology based transactions, intellectual property due diligence,
European drug regulatory litigation, and consultation regarding
various foreign intellectual property matters.
Perry’s litigation experience includes cases involving patents
covering pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, cellular
telephony, semiconductors, GPS, lasers, and mechanical devices.
Perry has argued before numerous federal and state judges, as well
as before the U.S. Trademark Trials and Appeals Board. Perry has
also represented clients in enforcing patents protecting products
which generated over a billion dollars in annual revenues for the
patent holder.
Perry also has extensive experience with transactions covering pharmaceuticals,
biotechnology, medical devices, biomass, and computer and internet
based companies. His merger & acquisition, licensing and related
experience includes closing transactions valuing in aggregate upwards
of half a billion dollars.
Perry was formerly an attorney in Fish & Neave’s New York
office where his practice focused primarily on patent litigation.
Subsequently, he accepted an offer from one of Fish & Neave’s
clients, NaPro BioTherapeutics (now Tapestry Pharmaceutical), to
work as Associate General Counsel over NaPro’s intellectual
property matters. Perry worked at NaPro’s Boulder, Colorado
headquarters until 2003, when he joined Bateman IP Law Group.
Perry graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University’s
J. Reuben Clark School of Law in 1997. In 1993, Perry received his
Bachelor of Science in molecular biology and in Portuguese from
Brigham Young University.
Perry is admitted to practice in New York, the District of Columbia,
Utah, before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the
Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Perry is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Association
(AIPLA), the Inter-American Association of Industrial Property (ASIPI),
the International Trademark Association (INTA), and the Federal
Bar Association.
